You simply need to take a net, and transfer your fish from one tank to the other, as you clean your primary tank. This allows them to swim around in the other tank as you clean. Sounds simple and it is!

Option 2

The second option is to fill plastic bags with water (like what you probably took your fish home in) and place your fish in them as you clean your tank. This one can be harder, although it might be cheaper. It still is going to keep your fish alive and free from any harm as you clean.
